Every February, the WM Phoenix Open shows up and completely changes the vibe around here. This year, David and I got to spend a day at Hole 16 and another at Hole 18, and it felt like two totally different events in the best way. Hole 16 is basically a stadium party. It is loud, it is packed, and the crowd reacts to everything. Good shot, bad shot, it does not matter, you are in the middle of it. You cannot help but have a good time.
Then you head over to Hole 18 and the mood shifts. It is still exciting, but now you can feel the pressure. Every shot matters, and the crowd knows it. Watching the players come down the stretch with everything on the line is pretty incredible. Getting to experience both sides of it, the chaos of 16 and the intensity of 18, made for a really fun couple of days. The people watching, getting to see the players and a few celebrities up close is always fun. No to mention the Thunderbirds do a great job presenting the event and donating so much from the proceeds to Phoenix charities each year. It is hard to beat an event like this. We feel very fortunate we were hosted by our wholesaling partners and were able to enjoy the event again this year. It is always a great event, part of Pheonix’s charm and allure. We are looking forward to next year already!
